Twenty years of samba in Co. Louth!!!!

Who would have thought that the historic town of Drogheda would become the epicentre of samba in Ireland for a full weekend every year.  2013 marks twenty years of the Drogheda Samba Festival.

Morro 16 have been performing at the Festival since the band's formation and have a tradition of doing the Sunday parade in fancy dress, in line with our ethos of "Street Bloco".

Many thanks to Phil and Brian and the good folks of Drogheda for hosting this essential event in the samba calendar.  It is such a great opportunity for Morro 16 to meet up with our festival friends and colleagues across Ireland as well as the overseas guests who visit each year.

This year saw the wettest parade known to man!! There was a torrential downpour on Saturday, just as we set out.  However, spirits were high, despite the rain!!!
