Morro 16

Rio-Style Samba in Dublin

Morro 16 is a vibrant samba ensemble based in Dublin, Ireland.
Our signature style of samba is 'batucada', typically played at carnival in Rio de Janeiro and other cities around Brazil.

Our live percussive performances are infectious, bringing the energy, rhythm and vibe of Rio carnival to the streets & clubs of Ireland.

Morro 16 ("Hill 16") first played together on the Hill 16 terrace of Croke Park during the Ireland vs. Brazil soccer friendly in 2008.

Over the years we have played at some of Ireland's largest festivals including Electric Picnic, Big Bang Festival, Real Events Carnival, Dublin Pride Parade, St. Patrick's Festival, the Festival of World Cultures, and the Drogheda Samba Festival.

Our members, from Ireland, Brazil and beyond, are experienced samba percussionists, who have played samba in carnivals and festivals throughout the world.

If you are interested in having us play at your event, we would be delighted to hear from you, so please get in touch.
